Being sustainable is more than just buying recycled paper products. For TORK, it is about the whole process, from "Forest to flush", ensuring that all aspects of making paper washroom products are sustainable.

Firstly, the Pulp used to make TORK washroom products is FSC certified, meaning it comes from renewable plantation forests, most if which is right here in NZ. Secondly, TORK washroom products are made locally in Kawerau, employing local people which ensures the local community benefits. The manufacturing process uses  industry leading paper making and converting machines and utilise the areas natural geothermal steam in the process, Lastly the finish products carry an Environmental Product Declaration from ECNZ so you can be 100% sure it is suitable.

• 100% of the Kawerau manufactured product supplied is FSC certified, which is the most stringent level of fibre certification.

• In 2018 TORK introduced a new policy prohibiting the use of fibre from trees grown on land that has been converted from tropical peatland. Fibre from tropical peatland has a carbon impact 3 – 6 times greater than the TORK product produced at Kawerau (e.g. Indonesian sourced fibre)

• The combination of Kawerau using New Zealand's 80% renewable power profile plus our conversion of our Dryers to geothermal steam results in a low environmental impact by TORK products.
